Description

The MBA course is designed to synthesise the development of graduates’ skills and knowledge of contemporary business management practices. The prime focus is on the application of those skills and the ability for graduates to tailor their studies through a variety of electives. The structure ensures that graduates are prepared for middle and senior management roles in a broad range of industries. The masters course deepens the knowledge and skills acquired through the core units plus the flexibility for students to select 2 units of particular interest. Within the core, the capstone Applied Business Project ensures that competence in the application of skills and knowledge is demonstrated to current and/or prospective employers.

Course Learning Outcomes

Graduates of the MBA will be able to:

Duration of Study

The duration of the MBA course is 2-years full-time or up to 4-years part-time for domestic students. An accelerated program is available.

Postgraduate Admission Requirements

The following admission criteria apply to all applicants to courses at APIC that lead to the award of an AQF Level 9 qualification.

  • Applicants must have successfully completed a Bachelor’s degree (AQF 7) or higher, awarded by a recognised university or higher education institution, in any discipline.
  • Applicants who do not meet these entry requirements but who successfully complete a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma at APIC will be eligible to progress to a Master Degree.

English language requirements
All applicants from a non-English speaking background applying to any postgraduate course at APIC must satisfy the following additional English language requirements:

IELTS Academic: overall band score of 6.5 or higher, with a minimum score of 6.0 in writing and speaking; OR
IBT (Internet-based TOEFL): overall score of 79 with a writing section minimum of 21 and speaking 18; OR
Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): Overall score 180, writing and speaking 180;OR
Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): Overall 176 with a writing and speaking minimum score of 169; OR
PTE Academic Module with a minimum score of 58 with a writing and speaking section minimum of 50.

In addition to the requirements above, APIC students are required to successfully complete the APIC Academic Integrity Module within the first three weeks of their study at APIC, as stated in the APIC Academic Integrity Policy. This module provides students with information about their academic integrity responsibilities, the importance of proper acknowledgment and referencing, and how to avoid plagiarism and other types of academic misconduct.
