Elizabeth Christopher retired from fulltime teaching in 2015 but continues as an academic writer and consultant in cross-cultural studies, particularly in online learning. She has published widely in her field and is a reviewer for international journals.
From 2000 to 2010 she was a staff member of Macquarie University, Sydney; then with Charles Sturt University (CSU), NSW, Australia.
Elizabeth spent many years in the private sector before returning to a university environment in 1979. She taught at the University of New South Wales until 1983 and was awarded a PhD from the former School of Organisational Behaviour (now the Australian Graduate School of Management).
She was formerly a staff member of CSU from 1988-1999; and from 1994-95 she was Professor in charge of CSU studies in Ankara and Istanbul, Turkey.
Through the 1980s and '90s she was a visiting professor at various US universities and a visiting fellow at the East-West Center, Honolulu, Hawai'i. The EWC is a US federally funded research institute committed to the enhancement of cross-cultural understanding between the countries of Asia-Pacific.
