Yes, APIC is registered as an approved Higher Education Provider by Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency and APIC’s award courses are accredited by the same authority. APIC is formally registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS). The degrees and awards conferred by APIC conform to the Australian Qualifications Framework.

• • AIPM (Australian Institute of Project Management) has fully endorsed APIC’s Master of Business and Project Management (graduates are automatically admitted as Certified Practicing Project Practitioner (CPPP) under AIPM’s RegPM program.)

Qualification

• We offer a suite of postgraduate courses with majors in disciplines that are closely aligned with industry trends and requirements. We also offer a suite of undergraduate coures in business and information systems management. Since APIC focuses on business, project, program and organisation management our students have the opportunity to excel in these fields.
• The cost to students is considerably lower than that typically charged by universities in Australia.
• Students obtain degrees from APIC which are formally accredited by government and recognised  in Australia.

Delivery

• Generally class sizes at APIC are much smaller than universities. We focus on individuals and can tailor courses to suit an individual´s needs and aspirations.
• Unlike traditional learning methods, APIC advocates project-based and competence-based learning focused on real project, program and organisation units.
• Courses are structured to suit workplace realities, and develop multiple competences in Business, Information, Project, Program and Portfolio Management.
• Proactive project-based learning is facilitated through mentoring and supported by advanced and student friendly, systems and tools.
• Individuals´ competencies are assessed, and students are assisted to develop their personal Learning & Development (L&D) plan.

Step 1: Review the entry requirements for your course and Apply Online. Once your application has been received, you will receive an automatic acknowledgment. If further documents are required you will be notified of this.

Step 2: A Letter of Offer will be sent to successful applicants with an Information Pack providing details of the student agreement, payment, and enrolment.

Step 3: Australian Students: Once we receive your acceptance and an enrolment deposit for first semester fees, we will confirm your enrolment and send you further information.

International Students:

• Students from Assessment Level 2 and 3 countries need to apply for Pre-Visa Assessment (PVA) before making any payments to APIC.
• Provided you pass PVA evaluation we will send a Letter of Offer and an Admission Pack.
• Once we receive your acceptance and an enrolment deposit for first semester fees plus OSHC (if applicable), an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE) will be issued, which all international students need for student visa processing (please refer to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection website for details on visa processing). Note that:
  • International students on a student visa residing in Australia are not permitted to study their courses online/distance mode.
  • eCoE is not required in the case of online students residing offshore or onshore.

Application Checklist:

Please include the following with your application form:

• A certified copy of your passport showing evidence of your citizenship (Australian students can also provide a Birth Certificate).
• A certified copy of your academic records. Documents not in English should be provided with a certified translation. If your name differs from that under which you gained your qualification, you must present evidence of the name change.
• Evidence of English language proficiency.
• 1 passport size portrait photograph (or email to [email protected]).
• Two references that you feel are relevant to your application.
• A copy of your CV (resume).

APIC is committed to providing cost-effective, affordable learning and opportunities for students around the world. Our schedule of charges and fees are among the lowest in Australia, considering the quality of the services we deliver. Our costs are low due to relatively small administration costs and lower campus operating charges. From this, we are able to pass on the savings to our students via lower fees and charges. Please refer to individual courses under the Courses menu to see the respective fees and charges.

Tuition fees are payable in advance for each unit of study. We will advise you of the amount payable and payment methods at confirmation of your enrolment. Full payment information is provided in the Letter of Offer.

APIC conforms to the requirements of the Tuition Protection Service (TPS) established by the Australian Government for overseas students. APIC also has in place tuition protection assurance arrangements for domestic students. These tuition protection arrangements assure current and intending students of APIC courses that lead to an APIC issued AQF award that they will be offered a suitable alternative course or have unspent pre-paid tuition fees refunded if APIC cannot provide the course for which the student has paid.

No, currently APIC is not linked to any loan scheme. Individual students are often in a better position to organise their own finances for studying at APIC.

PDP stands for Professional Development Planning; it is a 2-day intensive workshop held prior to the start of each semester. Its purpose is to help students develop their own personalised learning and development plans and receive briefing on the program, facilities available and other issues.

Students can elect to study on campus at our Sydney or Melbourne campuses or online, or a combination of both. Please note that international students on student visas must study full-time on campus unless advised otherwise, for example during COVID-19 lockdowns.

As a continuing education student or freelance participant you may design your own study program so that you can focus on your personal educational and professional development goals. As a formal graduate student of APIC you will be able to select the course most suited to your needs. Further, you can select your desired elective units of study (majors and industry streams), subject to the requirements of the chosen degree program.

In our core units of study we do cover the fundamentals of project management fully, including relevant knowledge tests. After completion of our core units all students should be able to sit for the relevant test conducted by PMI and pass the same with relative ease.

An academic course comprises a number of units of study. All academic degrees require completion of a number of core and elective units of study. Each unit of study is a self-contained package that has its own objectives, scope, learning program and learning materials.

APIC offers maximum flexibility with regard to the length of time taken by students to complete any of its graduate and undergraduate degrees. The minimum and maximum lengths of time permitted to complete each award course are set out below:

Important information for students:

• Minimum course duration is based on a normal full-time enrolment of four units of study each semester.
• To maintain full-time enrolled status, a student must be enrolled in no less than three units of study each semester, i.e. 0.75 of a normal full-time load.
• A domestic student (as classified by the Australian Commonwealth Government) is an enrolled student who is an
  • Australian citizen;
  • Australian permanent resident (holder of all categories of permanent resident visas, including Humanitarian Visas); or
  • New Zealand citizen.
• An onshore international student is a holder of a student visa, who is not a citizen of Australia or New Zealand, or who is not an Australian permanent resident, or who is a temporary resident of Australia.
• An offshore international student is an enrolled student who is not an: o Australian citizen;
• • Australian permanent resident (holder of all categories of permanent resident visas, including Humanitarian Visas);
  • New Zealand citizen; or
  • holder of a student visa.
• Maximum course duration for domestic and offshore international students is calculated as 1.5 times the time taken to complete when enrolled in 0.5 of a normal full-time load. e.g. for a 12 unit course the maximum course duration is (12 units / 2 units per semester) * 1.5 = 9 semesters.
• Maximum course duration for onshore international students is calculated on the basis of the time taken to complete when enrolled in 0.75 of a normal full-time load. e.g. for a 12 unit course the maximum course duration is (12 units / 3 units per semester) = 4 semesters.

Yes you can defer enrolment in a particular semester but cannot discontinue your studies once you commence studying in a particular unit.

The time commitments will be around 15 hours per week per unit/semester (12 weeks average) but this depends on the person´s background knowledge and abilities etc.

APIC has an international student mix and we emphasises close interaction among them. The diversity of backgrounds allows cross fertilisation of ideas and in-depth learning.

Normal Internet browser, email and standard office software for word processing, spreadsheet and related tasks are sufficient (most can be open source).

APIC normally awards credit for prior learning for equivalent units completed and assessed at recognised institutions, and applications are assessed on a case by case basis. Lodgement of an application is no guarantee that it will be successful as all applications that do not meet the Guidelines and Criteria for Recognised Prior Learning will be rejected. It is the responsibility of claimants to ensure they are entitled to credit under APIC´s Guidelines and Criteria. These can be viewed in Applying for RPL. Please note that there is a non-refundable fee for assessing credit application.

Yes, but only for continuing education and professional development students.
