Dr Spice Wang
B.Ed (Educational Technology), M.Ed (Educational Technology), PhD (Digital Pedagogy)
As a trained and registered school teacher in China, Spice also holds a VIT’s PTT registration in Australia. Having completed her Bachelor of Education degree in Educational Technology Discipline in 2002 and completing her Master of Educational Technology by research in 2009, she has been teaching in one of the leading teacher-training universities in China in the area of Educational Technology and Basic Programming between 2007 and 2010. She completed her PhD in education with a focus on preservice teachers’ knowledge in the use of digital tools and classroom interactions at La Trobe University in 2016 and taught in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences and the School of Education between 2014 and 2016.
In 2016, she joined a Chinese government-funded project to design wearable devices (Smart Watch), Mobile App, and School Extracurricular Content Management systems. She was one of the founding directors for the project and responsible for the platform content design, product operation design, school and government content operation, and social media operation. She also provided education-focused family consulting services for top Chinese entrepreneurs regarding their children’s school application, extracurricular activity planning, and personal growth consulting.
She came back to live in Australia and joined APIC in 2018. She works with other colleagues to promote the effective adoption of technology into educational program delivery at APIC, supporting both high-quality educational design as well as academic digital capability provision. She is responsible for providing one-on-one and small group support for academics, as well as developing frameworks, programs, and resources that operate across the academic team underpinned by good pedagogy.
