Professor Geoff Morris became the Dean and Director of Learning and Teaching in March 2020. Before his appointment, Professor Morris had an extensive career in both academia and the business world.
Professor Morris was appointed Dean of Business at the University of Notre Dame, Australia, in 2010. During the next nine years, he led the expansion of the school from an undergraduate focus to include postgraduate and doctoral studies across the business disciplines of accounting, management, market, public relations, and human resources management.
During his time at Notre Dame, his focus was on academic integrity, student outcomes, and academic standards. As a result, Notre Dame became recognised through the Federal Government QILT assessments as one of Australia’s leading business schools. His managerial and leadership career has included executive positions in public utilities and private companies for more than 30 years.
Prior to academia, Professor Morris was a director of World Youth Day, Sydney 2008, and Project Manager for the Building the Education Revolution for the Archdiocese of Sydney. His leadership roles included senior executive positions in large organisations namely TAB, Sydney Water, and Australian Water Technologies with working periods in the Philippines and the United Kingdom.
Outside of work, Professor Morris is strongly committed to his family and community.
